umm I don't know how I feel about this film, need a second watch for sure but I am going to stew on it for a bit, I think I might have enjoyed it but I am still not sure, it was funny in a few places but not super funny more though I really liked the cinematography and the lighting and editing, those were the best parts for me.
Uh to start off I think this thing had a pacing problem I feel like the movie started really abruptly and then it kind of just kept firing and then when it slowed down it was so abrupt too so I think that was the pacing but I can tell if it was the pacing of the writing and that it was just to snappy and rapid fire or the pacing of the writing.
I liked the cinematography, the shots were interesting, and it felt like we were in every character's respect, there is a shot in the car with grime and grain to it because the characters are tired and haven't slept in a few days, there are some tilt shifts when the car crash that feels so disorienting and that is great, I liked how the camera bounce in slow motion on the trampoline.
the editing reminds me a bit of Baz Luhrmann but not as over the top, which is cool the transitions that are in this film are great but a few are a bit disorienting
the lighting in each scene is great, there is a scene in a bar with red and blue lights and it casts onto the characters very softly and it is very nice to see, the red light entering the bedroom scene looked cool.
the characters are interesting I do feel like there is a lot of subtext with the characters but I would have to watch it one more time something I did notice is that people who are talking in this film are often misunderstanding each other or are trying to get there point across over someone else and that was a cool thing in the film.
I’ll say more in a rewatch a second watch going in with the idea that it’s going to play out the way it does will definitely change my perspective because I’m really not sure umm.. I had no idea where I was going with the film but that’s suppose to be a good thing. I uh.. I don't know.
