this movie is great, fantastic a true 10/10 here, the social and political commentary is smart witty, and still relevant today, the characters are written amazingly, and the songs and music are amazing truly catching, and great to listen to, 10 years later the movie still holds up and is a marvel to watch unfold it has the scope of a movie and I couldn't imagine it any other way which is the only way a show should be translated to a show.
the animation is timeless and steller to look at, it's got that classic quality that the old paper pilot had in some areas while feeling like it evolved perfectly into what it is today, again I love this movie a really really great movie.
movie notes are below!
---------------------------------------
- one thing I remember from this movie is that the music is incredible! it's made like a musical instead of a movie with songs it is a musical and I love that!
- that turn to town was good, cheating a bit but keeping within the style of the animation -- there is something so charming about the animation style especially in these early south park adventures.
- I like the little flashing on the characters from the movie playing in front of them.
- MR. HAT! OMG!
- the silence after Mrs. cartman explains what a rim job was so funny.
- I like how this is such a great commentary on censorship it's amazing.
- I like the coreophraphy in "it's easy m'kay"
- this one theater guy getting tricked everytime is so funny. "heeey"
- I like the animation on everything in in hell, the fire souls, the skeletons they look really well done a little too much cgi but I think that is intentional.
- shelly breaking a chair over stan is so funny.
- noooo they killed conan!
- I like that shellia still says potty mouths.
- kyle's mom is a bitch is such a fun song, the bouncy nature of the song and the flutes add to that. the kickline part of this song is amazing.
- I think Up There is my favorite song from the movie.
- I also like how well written his character is.
- I like how the cast is made up mostly of the same voices but how different each voice is from the other.
- the marathon song is well done, the mixing right at the beginning feels a little weird with La Resistance the rest of the songs feel lounder when the group comes in and this one feels like they turned the vocals for Gregory up and the kids down, maybe to have it gradually grow at the beginning.
- I think the great thing about south park is that it is very good at satire and social and political commentary it doesn't reference something last as to say that it agrees with that thing or too make a funny thing but it uses the thing that they are referencing to further prove and help strength their commentary. it's been like that for the thing with butters that those people tried and sued them for, it does that for the many musical's that it is referencing / parodying here too it's taking what is already established here and continuing to build on it by making similar points I take there war commentary here for example it isn't introduced until about 2/3rds of the way through but it's still excellently executed based the references and things that they introduce and build upon at least that is what I think.
- the reprise to La Resistance is really great.
- watching satan stand up for himself is so inspiring, stay strong king we all go through tuff times.
- what a movie, I love it.
