Symbiopsychotaxiplasm (1968)

notes below
------------------------------
- I like the split screen of the two different actors.
- I like the sound of the feedback, it's got a somewhat alien quality to it.
- I like the title card music.
- watching him play game master is interesting.
- seeing that third camera far away creates this isolating feeling.
- so they are analyzing what they are filming while filming, intriguing -- they have all hit a roadblock trying to understand the intent of the director-- it's the death of the author in a sense, they are attempting to understand the director from the film right?
- so he is the director of the projects as well as the editor, so ultimately he will decide what the final cut ends up looking like, but it seems at least to me that he has essentially given them all no instructions except to kind of go with however it makes them feel like he isn't giving direction and like that guy in the previous scene said they are trying to interpret what the director wants to form the direction that he is not getting, so he essentially has a bunch of camera operators filming like directors?
- also he is trying to catch them off guard, to make them think that they aren't being filmed, and to catch the actors and how they react to not being filmed that is the purpose of the all-seeing camera
- hearing the buzzing of the mic was pretty cool.
- watching him direct is so interesting.
- I love how they choose to bring music into this film.
- there is a recurring motif of audio breaking, and audio errors that seems pretty important.
- I think this interaction where Mr. Gordon asks why he is having them sing and he says because I want to have them sing and asks again why and he says I don't know and then someone answers for him and he sticks to that answer for the rest of the scene. -- this is an important part I feel.
