man I liked this movie, I think it's a lot of fun, the animation is stellar everything shooting from out behind the film like Katie edited the film was so cool but more than that the quality of the animation just looks really well done, the character models, the set design they are all super well done, and while the story can feel a bit by the numbers and there isn't a whole lot of subtext to be found deep within the film I don't think that is a negative at all. it's a really strong film and I have trouble trying to rate it between a 6 or a 7.
I really like the animation for the film, how stylized and up beat and brash it is, is very refreshing, it looks as if Katie made the film and that is very cool, when characters pop up it's really cool to see how she draws things and so much more, but much more than that I really like the character design, very cool the designs of each character but more the details that they have.
I also really like the color palate for the movie, it is so vibrant and colorful, the choice of cyan and red / orange clash so well together,
I love Abbi Jacobson in this role, the voice acting that she is doing in this film is really great, the opening credits is a great example, the subtle "there we are... warrior's" that is some really great voice acting, the subtle things that she is doing there is amazing, the deflated Warrior's is fantastic and she does tons of different things like that littered throughout the film, I also really like Maya Rudolph who does a pretty great job, usually she is so brash and out there which works for her but here she plays a different kind of role that is a lot more restraint and it works really well and flows together great, I also like Danny Mcbride and Mike Rianda and Olivia Coleman doing pretty stellar voice work here.
