Dealer (2020)

“I don’t know what this shit is” that was funny.

  • I do like the sliding shot to the gun.

  • There are these tiny moments where you see the character who didn’t want these things to happen but they did in this short but they are too few and far between, like the dancer part like why didn’t we hear more about that, probably one of my favirate lines because it shows a tragic side to this character who is displayed and written as such.

the editing is weirdly paced - the cut often interrupts the characters in the short as a style it could work with some refining, the delivery is far too quick though, you don’t have time to sit on anything that happens - the character has a lot of quirks but no personality, like I mentioned there is some small glimpses into her character in which we can get to know them but we don’t get enough of these for it to feel impactful, I know it’s short and at that a high school short but with the good that is here the improvements that could be made, could produce an interesting film with interesting style.
