Spider-Man: Lotus

Really like the bombastic score right at the beginning.

  • CG looks pretty good, that swinging shot of spider-man was awesome.

  • Like that we see him changing his web shooters.

  • The actor for shocker is doing some pretty good overacting

  • I like the costumes in the movie, the color palette was pretty good.

  • Camera man in the window 😀

  • People calling this movie depressing is kind of weird because imo this is the darkest spider-man story to adapt, so of course it's going to be a slog to get through.

  • I like the piano in this score where he was going to propose the runs that it is doing are pretty great.

  • Like the art style of these opening credits, very comic book-y.

  • The makeup and costume design with the tattered and warren suit looks great.

  • Damn evil peter. Also he was trying to avoid the fly lol.

  • The score is really good but it is very loud in the mix.

  • On the kitchen scene – the directing is holding the writing back, the writing clearly understands this a bit more than the directing does, there is a action line in a version of the script that I red that said “his former ANGER becomes REGRET.” and we don’t see this in the film, it feels like it suppose to be there, the lines of dialogue get softer and then build back up to be loud but the acting stays the same the whole time, why didn’t the director tell the actor that he wasn’t showing regret just anger? There is also no flow to the scenes like we start at a 10 and don’t have anywhere to build, we should have started at a 5 with “My Father Just Died” he yells it or something then go down to a 2 with “I thought you of all people could understand that” trying to emphasize with Peter, then slowly build back up to a 10 with “I thought we could get past our difference” which is the point of the scene, it is the most important dialogue in this scene, and then end on a 6 with “keep pushing everyone away” that way the dialogue flows naturally feels like true anger when you get into an argument or a fight with someone you don’t immediately start off at a 10 and when you do it’s impulsive, usually you’ll bring it back down after that and continue the argument at a normal tone until the other person in the argument has made you truly mad and then you will jump up to a 10. The flow is very one note and that one isn’t the actor’s fault, the director should have caught that.

  • I like the color of the red on the black and white.

  • I do like the make up for the goblin, it looks cool.

  • I do really like that they filmed these flashback scenes on phone cameras, it adds to the authenticity.

  • Woah. sound mixing – a little sound peaking in there.

  • He just has the burnt spider-man suit hanging up in his closet? What? I mean that is kind of goofy, not a point that would make me put a negative on the movie just goofy.

  • Harry’s actor Thomas is doing a great job holy crap, the lost look in his eyes.

  • This scene on the roof looks great shot wise.

  • That VFX work on those shots looks really great, I am sure the budget they were working on was tight.

  • The flash actor has this charisma about him that is very nice, love this actor.

  • You know the fact that this was made out of spite is interesting because sometimes spite can make the most powerful of stuff look at The Sucide Squad that was a movie made out of spite, it’s great cause you can feel that emotion as it channels it’s way through the movie, in this case this movie feels interesting.

  • Also he chose two comics that kind of mesh together really well, they compliment each other rather nicely.

  • Like the makeup on Harry.

  • Like the suit for wrestling peter, cool authentic web wings.

  • Like how the colors are muted except for Spider-Man and how vibrant that he is, this is the moment that defines him as spider-man so he should be the focus.
